Title: Research Assistant
Duties: The intern’s primary responsibilities will be to
assist two research studies – Prince George’s County Community Assessments and
the Offender Populations Urine Screening program (OPUS). Specific duties for
each are listed below.
Prince George’s County Community Assessments:
- Assist with development of methods and
instruments for environmental scans of target communities
- Collect data and information for environmental
scans
- Assist with development of interview instrument
for key stakeholder interviews
- Conduct key stakeholder interviews
- Assist with development of data tables and charts
for community profiles
- Other duties as assigned
OPUS:
- Assist with data entry of urinalysis results
- Assist with production of tables and graphics displaying
urinalysis results
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: This candidate must have advanced
organizational skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication
skills. Additionally, he/she should be comfortable making telephone and
in-person contacts with community representatives. Preferred skills: Knowledge
of Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience using mapping software, such as Google
Maps or GIS software a plus! Experience working with community organizations
and/or social service/health/criminal justice providers.
Compensation:
This
is an unpaid internship open to undergraduate students only and may be used to earn
BSOS, HLTH, or CRIM internship credit (3-6 credits).
