Position Overview: State Voices seeks a highly motivated college or recently graduated
student for our winter internship. The Intern will work and report to staff in
State Voices’ Washington, DC office, focusing on a variety of projects that
support the organization’s programs.
Responsibilities: On an ongoing basis, the Intern will assist with research,
communications, and implementation of State Voices’ national programs. S/he
will:

Produce written
and visual materials and reports on a variety of topics, with special focus on
the 2012 election and 2013 issue work.
·
Research and
develop briefing documents for State Voices’ national team as well as our state
networks.
·
Assist with major
event planning.
·
Represent the
organization at relevant meetings
·
Provide additional
research and administrative support
Qualifications:
·
Availability to
work at the Washington, DC office approximately 20-30 hours per week between
September 2012 and January 2013
·
Has demonstrated
interest in civic engagement or nonprofit work
·
Positive attitude
a must, in addition to creativity and a willingness to innovate
·
Excellent writing
and research skills are an absolute necessity
·
Graphic design
experience is a plus
·
Experience
working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive work environment that requires strong
attention to detail
·
Ability to work
both independently and in collaboration with a team
·
Experience using
the Microsoft Office suite as well as online collaboration tools
Compensation: This
internship is paid.
