The Department of Resident Life and the HighRiser Council are recruiting volunteers who reside on North Campus and
on North Hill to host a prospective UMD student visiting campus for one evening during the Overnight Stay Program (OSP).
We are especially in need of male hosts.
Hosts are student volunteers who are mature, have good judgment, and
are enthusiastic about living on campus. This opportunity allows current
residential
students to have a positive impact on a prospective student’s college
choice process.
If you decide to host you will receive a free HighRiser t-shirt and a coupon to use at The Stamp Student
Union for either a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich, a free slice of Sbarro pizza, or a free scoop of ice cream at the Dairy!
There will also be raffles for free Maryland pride swag AND $50 in Terrapin Express during the night of OSP!!
Important dates/times for the fall semester include:
·
September 30th @ 7pm: HighRiser Open House to receive more information about becoming a host in 1205 Cambridge Community Center (CCC)
·
October 7th @ 7pm: HighRiser Host Training in 1205 CCC: This is mandatory for new and returning hosts.
·
October 11th: Overnight Stay Program Event in the CCC
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity (and resume builder) that allows students to become more involved in
campus life as a campus leader and get some cool free stuff in the process!!
