Fall Intern Needed for Food Recovery Network--apply today!

Founded in September of 2011 at UMD, Food Recovery Network (FRN) is the largest national movement using food recovery to fight hunger and food waste. While one in six Americans are food insecure, according to the NRDC 40% of food in the United States is wasted. This food decomposes in landfills, making up almost 25% of U.S. methane emissions. We envision a world where meals feed people, not landfills. FRN unites students at colleges across the country in recovering surplus perishable food from their campus that would otherwise go to waste and donating it to people in need. In only four years, we have grown explosively from our first chapter at UMD to 150 schools in 36 states across the country, and have recovered and donated over 850,000 pounds of food. We are now a team of 15 and our headquarters is based in the Hartwick Office Building in the heart of College Park, right next to UMD. FRN is one of the leading brands in food recovery and the largest student movement against hunger, in addition to a leading success story as a UMD startup.Apply now for an internship with this exciting, high-impact organization!
