Two opportunities for current students to connect with prospective and newly admitted students.

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs Student Success Leadership Council, is offering two opportunities for current students to connect with prospective and newly admitted students.

Peer2Peer (P2P) encourages current University of Maryland students to assist with virtual recruitment efforts in areas such as Prince George's County, Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Washington D.C. We are seeking enthusiastic students interested in attending campus events and/or going on the road with Admissions to attend college fairs, panels, and workshops. P2P ambassadors may also be selected to host prospective admitted students for our overnight stay program.

MentorMe mentors are current UMD students who can be paired with incoming first-year students to aid their transition to the University of Maryland. Mentors are charged with the responsibility of giving new incoming students their first personal connection to UMD.

If these two opportunities sound like you and you want to assist, complete the Peer2Peer & MentorMe Application by Friday, September 24, 2021 by 5:00 p.m.

Serve Your City DC is looking for volunteer tutors to assist DC K-12 kids with their online learning!

SYC is a community based, black-led organization that provides resources, experiences and programs for the most underserved populations in Washington DC.

Even though DC Schools are returning to in-person learning, many families are facing difficulties. Students have fallen behind in their studies, and the adjustment period is proving challenging. We know that the need for tutors will be very high due to the constant adjustments and the lack of resources provided to the community. This is especially true for Black, Latinx, students from low-income families, and students with disabilities who have been hit the hardest and are falling behind. If you are able, please consider volunteering at least an hour of your time to tutoring these students and serving as a role model. The program is completely virtual!

The link to sign up is here. Please feel free to reach out to the program coordinator, Miranda (miranda@serveyourcitydc.org) with any questions

Applications are now open for Program Assistant positions in the Student and Community Development Programs office!

Are you or someone you know looking for a part-time job opportunity within the Department of Resident Life? Are you or a friend looking to develop your skills as a professional in a fun work environment?  Look no further than the Program Assistant (PA) position!

We are seeking motivated students interested in working on campus with the opportunity to start Fall 2021!

The application for this position can be found here:

 Program Assistant Application

Applications are due by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021.
