This study investigates the effects of meditation on reading comprehension and cognitive skills.
The study involves 4 sessions in the Patapsco
Building (Room 1110). Total payment is $90 ($15/hour). You receive $5
each at the completion of Sessions 1-3 and $75 at the completion of
Session 4. The 4 sessions are spread across 2 consecutive
weeks.
You cannot participate if you participated in the
Reading and Attention study, the fMRI Study: Meditation and Cognition,
Meditation and Cognition EEG study, or last year’s Meditation Training
study.

Researchers will determine your eligibility
according to these and other criteria to ensure it is safe and
appropriate for you to participate in this study. You must:
be 18-40 years of age;
be a native English speaker;
have normal or corrected-to-normal vision and hearing;
not have extensive prior meditation experience;
not have any known psychiatric or neurological disorder.
