Honors Winter Term Class in Belize

Honors is proud to host a study abroad course examining the impact of globalization-- using Belize as case study.  The course will focus on the challenges of globalization and development within Belize.  Students will have the opportunity to meet with NGOs, community leaders, intellectuals, activists, and ordinary citizens.  Please join us for the unique opportunity to observe the impact of globalization on a society. 


HONR 278O: Exploring Issues and Challenges of Globalization in Belize, A Case Study
January 4-22, 2013
Led by: Dr. Dorith Grant-Wisdom, Honors College

Travel through Belize while exploring key issues in globalization. This course outlines the tensions among global, economic, political and socio-cultural values, using Belize as a case study. Students will meet with a variety of people and will become aware of how governments, communities, and individuals are trying to solve problems within the context of global forces and challenges.
