Student activist group MaryPIRG will be hosting a FREE event at Nyumburu Amphitheater next to Stamp Student Union on Saturday, October 13 from 3 to 5 pm.
The
purpose of the event is to register voters, educate students about the
importance of voting for clean energy, and show politicians that
students will keep energy and environmental issues in mind when at the
polls.
There will be LIVE MUSIC from local band Supermoon!
Speakers
include representatives from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network as
well as student leaders from environmental and voter registration
organizations. The event is in conjunction with the Maryland Student
Climate Coalition and Power Vote, a national initiative to encourage
students to pledge to vote for clean energy to show politicians that we
care about this issue and will vote accordingly.
We
will be taking Power Vote pledges at the event, so come out, enjoy live
music, learn about local environmental issues, and sign a pledge to
show that students care!
