The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) will sponsor a blood drive benefiting
sickle cell patients at Children's National Medical Center located in
Washington, DC. In the Greater Washington Area, sickle cell is at the
highest rates in the country and it affects young children the most who often are not able to live past 25. Please help and donate blood if you are able. “The gift of blood is the gift of life.”
The
blood drive will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 3
p.m. at the Children's Hospital Bloodmobile, which will be located
directly across from the Cole Field House. Students must bring a form of
ID and drink plenty of water before donating. Goodies will be given to
those who donate.
You can contact the blood donor center at 202-476-5437 to make an appointment. You can also schedule your appointment online at
http://www.cnmcblooddonor.com/index.cfm?group=op&step=2&opid=3277
Walk-ins are also welcome!
Thank you for becoming a Children's National Medical Center blood donor!
Hope to see you there!
