This is the program for those who want to work on the frontlines for human rights! This year, we will be sending Peace Fellows to support our community-based partners in Nepal, Vietnam, Peru, Bosnia, Mali, Uganda, Morocco and Palestine. Fellows will play an active role in the following innovative campaigns:

Training survivors of sexual violence at two
centers in Mali
●
Providing services for families affected by
Agent Orange in Vietnam
●
Installing accessible toilets for students
with disability at 3 schools in northern Uganda
●
Preventing child labor in the brick kilns of
Nepal
●
Treating village women for uterine prolapse
in Nepal
●
Training a new coalition of relatives of the
disappeared in Nepal
●
Comforting survivors of the Srebrenica
massacre on the 20th anniversary of the massacre, in Bosnia
●
Profiling Latin America’s only field school
on transitional justice, in Peru
●
Helping
weavers in the Atlas mountains to open a cultural center and attract
visitors, in Morocco
●
Supporting and profiling a new AP partner in
Nablus, Palestine.
Peace Fellows may also help their hosts to produce
material for an advocacy quilt.In addition to supporting these programs, Fellows will train their hosts in one or more of our 5x10 services, and produce blogs, video, and photos on their fellowship. Fellows will be asked to produce two evaluations, after training and at the end of the fellowship.
All positions, except for Mali, are short-term (10-12 weeks, June - August) and come with a $1000 stipend. We will do our best to help identify additional funds, if needed, and provide free comprehensive medical insurance. Successful applicants will attend a week of skills-training from experts in Washington May 26-30 (free accommodation). All applicants will be asked for a $25 application fee, to cover our servicing costs.
