UMDTC, AMSA, and ITASA will be jointly
sponsoring a Bone Marrow Donor Registration Drive on Monday, February
23, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM in Prince George’s Room at the Stamp
Student Union. The Be The Match bone marrow registry is often the last
resort for those diagnosed with life-threatening diseases such as
leukemia or lymphoma for which a marrow transplant may be their best or
only hope for a cure.
Our drive hopes to increase the number of donors on the registry. We will be working with the National Marrow Donor Program to collect cheek swabs from potential donors - the entire donation process will take no more than 15-20 minutes.
While we will accept walk-ins throughout the day, we would appreciate it if potential donors could please RSVP for a guaranteed time slot.
