The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship is the largest
(2000 awards annually) and one of the most prestigious awards for
graduate study in science, math, engineering, and social/behavioral
sciences. The NSF award provides three years of support,
with an annual stipend of $32,000. To be eligible you must be a US
citizen or permanent resident, and you must have fewer than 2 completed
years of graduate study in most cases. You can learn more about the NSF
