The
University of Maryland's Student Government Association would like to
announce openings on the Committee on Financial Affairs, Student Groups
Committee, and Communications Team.
The Committee on Financial Affairs
The Student Groups Committee
The Student Groups Committee will focus on cultivating and maintaining a cohesive partnership between the SGA and UMD student groups. The main tasks of this committee will include officiating SGA recognition of groups, guiding groups through the SGA finance process, and being facilitators for student group success.
The Committee on Financial Affairs
The
Committee on Financial Affairs is the body charged with the fair and
equitable distribution of the Student Activities Fee. In addition to
working to fairly allocate the Fee, Finance Committee members also help
to guide organizations through the funding processes, and enhance the
outreach of the Student Government Association. Joining this committee
is a great way to gain valuable experience in the SGA, interact with a
wide variety of student groups, develop leadership skills, and more.

The Communications Team
The
Communications Team's main objective is to devise and execute a concise
messaging strategy, and to keep the student body informed of the
happenings of the SGA. They act as the first contact to the general
public, media, and students. The team is also responsible for publishing
a bimonthly periodical to ensure the campus is aware of SGA activities.
In addition, the Communications Team manages What to Fix UMD.
