The Howard County Republican Party is seeking political campaign interns
for the 2014 fall semester. We are seeking personable and courteous
individuals who possess excellent verbal communication skills. This
internship provides an excellent opportunity to experience the inner
workings of a political campaigns and/or working with the party central
committee. Interns will learn about the organizational, and operational
functions of a campaign including field work, campaign messaging,
outreach to the community, use of technological tools (such as MS
Office, Goggle Docs, social media, use of databases), attending campaign
events, and brainstorming. Interns should expect to work approx. 100
hours up to and including Election Day (not to conflict with semester
college course schedule). This internship is unpaid but will prove to
be a rewarding, interesting experience. Faculty in the College of
Behavioral and Social Sciences have been notified of this internship
opportunity and students may be eligible to receive credit for this
internship. Please note that credit is not guaranteed and eligibility
will be decided by the university and the BSOS College on a case-by-case
basis. This is an excellent opportunity to sharpen your communication,
organizational and team work skills during a fascinating election. You
