The world is watching developments in the Middle East with great anticipation and Harman will share her vision from the front row.
Harman is the first female director, president and CEO of the Woodrow Wilson Center and was most recently a nine-term U.S. representative for California who served on all major security committees: Armed Services, Intelligence, and Homeland Security.  She will share her insights into U.S. national security and public policy issues surrounding Israel and the Middle East.
Given the escalating national conversations about the Syrian conflict and chemical weapons, nuclear proliferation in Iran, political unrest in Egypt, and the latest iteration of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians, this program is sure to be timely and insightful.

Cosponsored by the College of Arts and Humanities and the UMD Office of International Affairs
