The Do Good Challenge
is both a fun competition and a real-world opportunity for teams to advance the
causes they’re passionate about and work towards solving some of the world’s
most pressing problems. During the Challenge,
University of Maryland students further their favorite causes by volunteering,
fundraising, promoting awareness, or starting or advancing a social enterprise.
New this
year: Seed funding is
available to all Do Good entrants
looking to jump start their projects or social enterprises this fall. Teams can apply to the Do Good Challenge Booster Fund for up to $500 to be used to amplify
their impact over the course of the Do
Good Challenge. Click
here to apply to the Do
Good Challenge Booster Fund.
The Do Good Challenge,
now in its 3rd year, will be launching in a new format in February
2014! For the first time, the No Limits Social Impact Pitch Competition, which
has historically been part of the Social Enterprise Symposium, has joined
forces with the Do Good Challenge!
Teams will now enter the Do Good
Challenge in one of two ways:
●
Projects: Students do as much good as
possible over the 8-week competition
● Ventures: Social Enterprises leverage the Challenge to scale their impact
Semi-finalists, finalists, and winners will be chosen from
both groups.
Stay tuned for updates and developments. Like us on Facebook

The Do Good
Challenge is open to all University of Maryland undergraduate and graduate
students. Groups that participated in
last year’s Challenge are eligible and encouraged to participate again. Last year’s winner is ineligible to compete
as the same project, but students from that group may compete with another
group for another cause this year. Likewise, alumni, students from other
institutions, and just about anyone else can participate in the Challenge by
joining an existing UMD student team or project.
