Suicide is the second leading cause of death among college students
in the United States. The University of Maryland Health Center is
committed to preventing suicide and offers a FREE suicide prevention
training for student groups and other UMD-affiliated organizations. The
prevention training teaches attendees how to: (1) recognize individuals
who are at potential suicide risk; (2) intervene; and (3) refer
individuals to professional counseling.
If you would like to learn
more about hosting a suicide prevention training for your student group
or UMD organization, please complete the training request form at: http://www.health.umd.edu/suicidepreventiontraining or call 301-314-8106
and ask to speak with the Suicide Prevention Coordinator.
