On Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th, the College of
Agriculture and Natural Resources is inviting the University community
to join the conversation about the world hunger crisis. HungerU, a
special project of the Farm Journal Foundation’s
Farmers Feeding the World effort, will be visiting campus to engage
students in the conversation through their mobile classroom. The tour is
traveling to universities up and down the East Coast and UMD was
honored to be selected as a destination.
HungerU’s mobile classroom will be outside of Cole Field House (at
the Farmers’ Market location) from 9am – 5pm, October 7 & 8
featuring exhibits with digital displays, interactive kiosks, and
prizes. This classroom is designed as a space for discussion
and engagement on global food and hunger issues and the critical role
modern agriculture must play in solving them. Check out HungerU’s
facebook page for more information:

Hunger is the world's #1 killer. With the global population
projected to expand to 9 billion people by 2050, it will be up to the
leaders of tomorrow – students right here at the University of Maryland –
to create innovative, sustainable solutions that
meet the challenge of feeding our world.
