In
his second annual lecture at UMD, Jim Undercofler, former President and
CEO of the Philadelphia Orchestra and current Artistic Director of the
National Orchestral Institute, will discuss what skills and knowledge
aspiring performing arts entrepreneurs need to be successful creators of
new ventures. Real-life examples will be used to highlight specific
challenges emerging arts entrepreneurs face, including idea creation and
seeking funds to support their ideas.
Ample time will be given for discussion.
Mr. Undercofler is a
consultant to create a new master of arts degree in entrepreneurship in
the arts, as well as undergraduate programs in leadership and advocacy,
