Hollywood, Music and Journalism: The Greg Smith Story

Journalism, film, music -- American University adjunct film professor Greg Smith's done it all, and he's here to share his experiences with students at the University of Maryland.


Smith has worked as a producer, director and sound recordist on over 60 feature films, documentaries and music videos for companies such as IMAX, Lucasfilm, Paramount, Warner Bros. and National Geographic. He has worked on sound for films such as Jurassic Park and the Star Wars series, and he has also composed original music f
or radio, film and television.

Smith has held senior staff positions at National Public Radio and CBS News and is a staff recipient of two of journalism’s highest honors: the George Foster Peabody and Alfred I. duPont awards.
