UMD Winter: Taiwan: Exploring a Different China

App Deadline: 10/15
Study Abroad Term: 12/28 - 1/19
Taiwan is a dynamic city known for its towering mountains, beautiful coastlines, and bustling city life. Taiwan also has many major attractions such as historical temples, beautiful national parks, and the famous Taiwanese Night Market. During the program, participants will be immersed in Taiwan's vibrant culture through planned excursions throughout the city and individual exploration. Participants will be staying in downtown Taipei, Taiwan's capital city, where they will take a Chinese language course and culture class to build conversational skills and to learn more about Taiwanese culture. In addition, the class is also offered as an honors class which can fill one honors seminar requirement!

Imagine spending your 2013 New Year's Eve here while enjoying some delicious Taiwanese cuisine where most meals can be as low as $3!

The program needs at least 8 people or it will be cancelled so don't hesitate to apply!

To learn more about the program please attend the next information session on Oct. 4 from 6-7pm in the Multipurpose Room of Saint Mary's Hall. You may also contact Dr. Phoenix Liu, the Program Director at: phoenixl@umd.edu
