NATIONAL EATING DISORDERS ASSOCIATION TO HOLD WALK IN COLLEGE PARK





Hosted by Zeta Psi Fraternity and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority on McKeldin Mall at the University of Maryland

College Park, M.D. – The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is pleased to announce the expansion of their walk program to include a walk in College Park, MD on September 22, 2012. The walk is a short, non-competitive event to support the mission of NEDA, through participant registrations and fundraising, to raise awareness of the dangers surrounding eating disorders and the need for early intervention and treatment.

In the spring of 2009 the National Eating Disorders Association launched its first ever NEDA Walks campaign in 17 cities around the country, with over 1300 walk participants and approximately $183,000 in revenue. In 2010 NEDA expanded its NEDA Walk program to 19 walks with over 3,000 walk participants and approximately $270,000. By last year, 2011, NEDA has grown to 29 walks in cities across the nation with approximately 5300 walk participants and $298,174 in revenue!
