Jim Collison of Gallup will give a guest talk in CMSC435
"Software Engineering" on Thursday, April 30, at 11AM in 3117 CSI.
His talk is titled
A Look inside Gallup’s Strengths Based Software Development
Culture and How It’s Changing Engagement in the American Workplace
During the talk he will touch on best practices in research and
engineering, and also ways to
prepare for a career in this domain. We have space available in the
lecture hall and invite
any who are interested to sit in. Bring your good questions!
Mr. Collison oversees a team of software developers for QBank, a
proprietary application that stores all the questions that Gallup
has asked in its polling and consulting work. He also partners with
Gallup's Talent Resources team to recruit and retain world-class
system and database administrators and software developers who
support Gallup's clients and the company's internal systems as well
as oversee both the College and High School internship programs year
around.
