Terps Against Hunger hosting UMD’s 3rd annual Homecoming Service Event 9/25

On Sunday, September 25th, Terps Against Hunger will be hosting UMD’s 3rd annual Homecoming Service Event. The organization will be bringing together over 2,000 volunteers to package 400,000 meals. All of the meals packaged during this event will be donated locally, to support hungry children and families in the DC-Metro area. Distribution partners include: Capital Area Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank, Manna Food Center, Miriam’s Kitchen, Shepard’s Table, Nourish Now, and more.

The meal packaging process is both fun and simple, bringing UMD students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents/families, and local community members together around tables to serve an important need. 1 in 5 children in the DC area live in food insecure households, and on Sept. 25th you can be part of reducing the burden of hunger.
