Mental Health Awareness Week - Oct. 3-7

Next week (October 3-7) is the second annual Mental Health Awareness Week. The Counseling Center is hosting a number of great events. The goal of this week is to increase the visibility of counseling services and reduce stigma around seeking mental health assistance. There will be movie screenings, interactive discussions, tabling events, yoga on the mall, and a brown bag discussion. They are also offering free depression screenings, which is a quick way to get students to meet a therapist, gain some insight, and learn some tools without the full commitment of setting up full-fledged appointments with a counselor (hopefully, some of these conversations would encourage students with high-needs to pursue further services).
