Humanity First UMD - First GBM and Haiti Info Session

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone's start to the new school year is going well! Over at Humanity First UMD, we have been working very hard to make this an awesome semester. Come check out what we have planned at our first General Body Meeting! The details are below:

Date:                  Tomorrow (09/19, Monday)
Time:                  8PM-9PM
Location:             School of Public Health Room 1303

At the GBM, you can:

-Learn about how you can go on a trip to Haiti in January 2017
-Meet the executive board and members who went on last year's trip
-Find out about ways to get involved with the community and
internationally through service

You can also get involved with all the service projects going on this semester, such as:

-Emmanuel Foodbank and DC Central Kitchen
-Help with food prep and distribution
-Rayse
-Learn about this startup in India providing free education to lower income students in different regions of India
-We will have the opportunity to help them out and expand their reach
-Missing Maps
-Create maps for places that need them using satellite imagery
-This makes it possible for disaster relief organizations to be more effective and helps with the planning of evacuation routes

Lastly, thank you to everyone that signed up through the First Look Fair. Welcome to Humanity First UMD! I'm excited to meet you guys and excited to get back in touch with the members from last year. And finally, huge thanks to the eboard for all of your efforts. Without your
help, this club would most definitely not be possible.

Hope to see all of you there,

Sadiq Asad
President
