Dialogues on Deliberation are designed to inspire students to talk to other students about their participation in public life. Undergraduate students will reflect together on the ways in which their daily communication habits and social practices contribute to or challenge a culture of demagoguery. Participants will also brainstorm strategies for promoting healthier deliberation practices individually and culturally. The dialogues will address the guiding assumptions and principles in Dr. Patricia Roberts-Miller’s first-year book: Demagoguery and Democracy. Dr. Roberts-Miller will be present to lead students and participate in the dialogues. RSVP here: ter.ps/PDI
Organized by the Department of Communication, Rosenker Center for Political Communication & Civic Leadership, Office of Undergraduate Studies, and College of Arts and Humanities
