Presents
The Human Right to Education
for Refugees and Migrants
TIME: November 29, 2018, Thursday, 11:30 am to 2:30 pm
LOCATION: H. J. Patterson Hall - Global Crossroads
With University of Maryland’s academic year theme Year of Immigration and the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, we are reminded of the rights of children, youth and adults to access educational opportunities no matter what their circumstances are. Refugees and migrants are faced with overwhelming challenges in accessing their right to education yet they also bring the richness of their experiences and backgrounds to their new homes.
From the global to the local, come explore the challenges, frustrations, opportunities and richness of refugees and migrants to access education.
Lunch will be provided on a first come first served basis.
