JDKatz, P.C., a boutique law firm in
Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking an Honors College student (or Honors Citation
recipient) for a summer internship. The summer intern will have many
responsibilities including direct client contact, attending client
consultations and attorney-meetings, assisting with execution of estate
planning documents, reviewing and editing
correspondence to clients and opposing attorneys, and assisting with attorneys’
scholarly writing and teaching. Our intern may be able to attend hearings and tour judicial facilities and will have
opportunities to attend firm social functions and for direct interaction with
partners in the practice. The firm practices predominantly in
estate planning, tax law, estate and trust administration, business law, and
litigation. This is a great opportunity for an undergraduate student
considering law school to get a better understanding as to day-to-day legal
practice and would be superb inclusion on a
law school or business school resume.
Previous interns have also
prepared extensive marketing programs, power point seminars, and written
published articles during their internship, and developed portfolios of published experience.
Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in the
pre-law program. The internship can either be unpaid or for-credit at the
choice of the intern. The internship would be full-time and our intern
would start as soon as possible after the close of spring finals.
Please send a cover letter and resume in PDF form to
Jeremy Rachlin (UM Honors and Gemstone alum, UMCP Class of 2002) via e-mail at jeremy@jdkatz.com. More
information about the firm can be found at http://www.jdkatz.com.
