First-Year Honors Students Can Now Apply to Join Integrated Life Sciences Program

The Integrated Life Sciences (ILS) Program seeks the applications of outstanding first-year students currently enrolled in University Honors who are interested in joining the ILS living-learning community in order to pursue academic and professional interests in the Life Sciences.  This admissions program is targeted to those University Honors students who will be rising second-year students in Fall 2016, and who were not able to satisfy the AP or college-course requirement for being admitted to ILS as entering freshmen.

Information about the ILS Program
ILS seeks to engage and inspire honors students interested in all aspects of biological research and biomedicine.  The overall objective of the ILS experience is to build a community of students who enjoy working and living together while preparing for future success in the most challenging programs in graduate, medical, dental, or other professional schools.

As with the other Honors living-learning communities, ILS is designed to promote the development of meaningful academic, professional and personal relationships.  In addition to the required ILS courses, ILS offers facilitated research internships and service opportunities in the Life Sciences, as well as regular community outings, dinners, and guest speakers.  To learn more about the ILS program, visit www.ils.umd.edu
