Do you believe that your critical reading and
thinking abilities are already determined, set in stone, unchangeable?
How often do you say, or think, "I'm just not a good test taker"? Are
you worried that the MCAT will reveal you to
be not good/smart/talented enough for medical school?
Join Jeff Koetje, M.D., for a conversation
about your journey into medicine and the caring professions. Dr. Koetje
will discuss the importance of having a "growth mindset" approach to
preparing for each challenge - including the MCAT
and especially the CARS section - that you'll encounter on your way.
Dr. Jeff Koetje, a graduate of Northwestern University
Feinberg School of Medicine, currently serves as Director of
Institutional Partnerships and Program Development at Kaplan Test Prep.
He recently served for 4 years as the Director of Student
experiences for the American Medical Student Association (AMSA). He has
worked to support the personal and professional development of
premedical and medical students for over 15 years.
