The FDA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) is accepting
applications for a 3-6 month ORISE fellowship beginning December 2014. The
fellow will report to the OWH Research and Development Team.
Duties:
1)
Conduct data entry for a new OWH database of information
related to scientific research studies, consumer education initiatives, and
digital outreach.
2)
Collect and analyze data to prepare reports, technical
material, graphs, charts, and other documents.
3)
Assist the Research and Development Team with other
program activities (e.g. literature searches, document review and editing,
meeting preparation)
Qualifications:
BS degree in biological/biomedical sciences with strong
computing, attention to detail, focus-oriented and data analysis skills.
Technical Experience:
Microsoft Office including expertise in Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel.
OWH Background:
The FDA Office of Women’s Health addresses the health issues
of the nation’s women by supporting
policy, research, and outreach initiatives. OWH activities are coordinated
through two program areas:

OWH Research and Development Program - Promotes and conducts research
initiatives that facilitate FDA regulatory decision-making and advance the
understanding of sex differences and health conditions unique to women.
·
OWH Outreach Program – Conducts educational initiatives and stakeholder
outreach to increase women’s access to FDA health and safety information through
a variety of channels including national campaigns, publication promotions, and
digital outreach such as Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and Television
Public Service Announcements (PSA’s).
