The Global Communities Living-Learning Program presents
Joshua Oppenheimer, award-winning documentary director and 2014 McArthur Fellow, in this campus premiere.
Dr. Shibley Telhami, Sadat Chair for Peace and Development, will
lead a Q&A with the director after the screening. The filmmakers
follow unrepentant death squad leaders in Indonesia and challenge them
to dramatize their role in genocide, producing
a unique and powerful melding of art and remembrance. The screening and
discussion will be preceded by a reception.
This
special event is co-sponsored with the Office of Undergraduate Studies,
the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, the Sadat Chair for Peace
and Development, CIDCM, the Honors College, and the School of Public Policy.
