TEDxUMD
will be a TED conference specifically for the UMD community, held on
MAY 3RD. We want to showcase not only faculty and local professionals,
but also the amazingly talented students on this campus! We're
looking for speakers and performers who can contribute in some way to
our theme of The Human Experience. The theme is broad so we can make
sure the talks reflect the variety and diversity of the people and
perspectives within our community! It opens the door to countless
questions: What does the Human Experience mean to you? What does it mean to be human? How
do human beings find meaning? How do we find love? Why do we create
social constructs we don't necessarily want to abide by? What does it
mean to be beautiful? Evil? Funny? Smart? When will the ZombiePocalypse
happen? What was up with that HIMYM finale?! Poets, comedians,
engineers, physicists, artists, musicians, future wolves of Wall Street,
HUMANS OF COLLEGE PARK: if you think you have something to fresh,
creative and inspiring to say or share, or a story to tell or an
anecdote you don't think we will be able to resist-- fill out the
application by APRIL 8! We can't wait to hear from you!

HEY
TERPS!! UMD is finally licensed to host a TEDx event for our campus
community! For those of you who may not know what TED is, TED
(Technology, Entertainment, and Design) is an organization that aims to
bring together bright and outstanding minds to give
(and listen to!) talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of
subjects, to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and spark
conversations that matter. TED talks are innovative, captivating and
inspiring!
