The FDA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) is accepting applications for a two-year Staff
Fellow position beginning March 2018.
FDA OWH Mission:
- Protect and advance the health of women through policy, science, and outreach
- Advocate for inclusion of women in clinical trials and analysis of sex/gender effects
- Increase scientific knowledge through advanced professional training/education in
subpopulation analysis

The Staff Fellow will work within the OWH Medical Initiatives & Scientific Engagement
and Research & Development Divisions and will be engaged in the following professional
activities:
- Development of scientific manuscripts related to sex differences and women’s health
- Coordination of a scientific conferences including development of background materials and
subsequent white papers as necessary.
- Collaboration with experts to develop presentations for national meetings
- Development of educational materials (e.g. webinars, PowerPoint presentations)
- Data aggregation from existing databases
- Simple descriptive data analysis using software such as Excel
- Authoring scientific poster, manuscript and other scholarship dissemination
- Participation in synergistic activities across FDA, federal landscape and external stakeholders
- Search, review, and communicate the scientific literature on relevant topics via written and
verbal communicaton.
Qualifications:
A PhD in biological sciences, public health, health sciences, or related field with scientific
writing and scientific literature research capabilities. A minimum of two years’ experience in
areas reflecting the above listed professional activities is preferred.
