The Center for Early Childhood Education and Intervention (CECEI) is a joint initiative between the Department of Counseling, Higher Education and Special Education (CHSE) and the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methodology (HDQM). The mission of CECEI is to conduct high quality research on early childhood education and early intervention programs in order to inform State and Federal policy, to translate research into scalable education programs and best practices, to build capacity in schools and communities, and to promote family engagement in their children’s education.
We are recruiting one or more undergraduate Research Assistants for the Fall 2017 semester. RAs have the opportunity to be involved in several projects, such as developing an early childhood curriculum, examining the effectiveness of a preschool expansion grant, studying the implementation of special ed services in early childhood, and promoting family engagement in young children’s learning. RAs will be expected to work at the CECEI approximately 10 hours per week. Compensation will be course credit. Please note that priority will be given to applicants who are available/interested in working for two consecutive semesters (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018).
For more information on the CECEI, please visit our website at http://www.education.umd.edu/ CECEI/index.html.
To apply, please email a resume and cover letter to Bridget Mullan at cecei@umd.edu.
For best consideration, submit your application by Monday, April 17.
