The FDA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) is accepting applications for a one-year ORISE Research Participant position beginning May 2017. The fellow will work directly with Pamela E. Scott, PhD, MA – OWH Deputy Director and Director of Research and Development.
FDA OWH Mission:
Protect and advance the health of women through science, education, and outreach
Advocate for the inclusion of women in clinical trials and analysis of sex/gender effects
Increase scientific knowledge through advanced professional training/education related to sex and gender differences
Disseminate FDA health and safety information to women’s health stakeholders
ORISE Participants with the OWH Research and Development Division will be engaged in the following professional activities:
Assist in the assessment of demographic inclusion in clinical trials, conduct of sex analyses, and other women’s health related studies for FDA-regulated products
Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Search, review, and communicate findings from the scientific literature on relevant topics
Perform scientific review of progress and final reports for OWH-funded projects
Perform scientific review of proposals submitted for funding consideration
Collaborate with experts to develop presentations for national meetings
Author scientific posters, manuscripts and other scholarship dissemination methods
Qualifications:
Master’s degree (e.g. MS, MPH, etc.) in epidemiology or public health with strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
