The
University of Maryland College Park Foundation Ambassadors are looking
for ten students to serve as the inaugural class of this elite
organization.

MISSION:
Ambassadors
will help advance our donors’ understanding and appreciation of the
university and our students’ role in its growth and success. By sharing
their own unique stories
and experiences as Terps, Foundation Ambassadors validate the
contributions of donors, alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students.
By
networking with trustees, Ambassadors not only strengthen the
connection between these closest friends of the University and our
students, Ambassadors also gain access to
valuable contacts and learn from successful business people.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·
hosting
Trustees on campus and at board meetings, and providing support at
campus events that involve university trustees and donors
·
completing
a minimum of 20 service hours each month, mainly by attending trustee
meetings, signing personalized thank-you notes and calling donors to
thank them for their support
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
·
full-time
undergraduates in their third year or above, by years (not hours), with
at least one year at Maryland, or graduate students with at least one
year at Maryland
·
good academic and disciplinary standing
·
a completed application and two letters of recommendation

preference for students with a great deal of campus involvement
APPLICATION CRITICAL DATES:
Because
we are on a timeline for Ambassadors to attend the May 12-13, 2016
board meeting, if you are selected as a finalist, you will be contacted
for an interview
by Friday, April 22.
Interviews
for finalists for next year’s Ambassadors will be held April 25-29.
Additionally, Ambassadors must be able to attend the spring board
meeting here
on campus on Thursday and Friday, May 12-13.
