Opportunity for Graduating Seniors--PACT Mentor Fellowship

Mercy College is conducting an open search for exceptional college seniors who are passionate about making a difference and have the motivation and talent to do it.  The PACT Mentor Fellowship is a salaried position requiring a two-year commitment to do whatever to takes to help students successfully navigate their college experience.  Candidates selected for this important position are invited to complete their Master’s degree, tuition-free, in Business Administration, Counseling, Education or Organizational Leadership.  

Mercy College, located in the metropolitan New York area, is a private, non-profit, non-denominational institution, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Mercy College celebrates one of the most diverse student populations in the United States and is a federally-designated Hispanic Serving Institution. A majority of our undergraduate students are the first in their families to attend college and come from families with high financial need.   

PACT Mentor Fellows empower students to succeed academically, personally, and professionally, while driving the national college completion agenda.  Mentors provide one-on-one academic advisement to each student; assist in pre-enrollment and orientation activities; and counsel students and families on student aid eligibility. Unique to higher education, the Mercy College PACT program has received national recognition as a model program for student success.  In 2012, the PACT program leadership was 1 of 10 national recipients of the 2012 Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award by the National Resource Center for the First –Year Experience and Students in Transition.  
This position takes passion as well as a healthy helping of perseverance, resilience, and problem-solving skills.  We’re looking for high-achieving student leaders with a track record of success from a variety of majors, extracurricular organizations, and backgrounds to serve as our newest PACT Mentors.
