Join us in exploring a wide range of Middle Eastern and North African prose and poetry and its varied forms of art and practices of culture. In doing so, we hope to engage in a more authentic exploration of a region that has been very wrongly interpreted and represented. Together, we will deny the narrative set before us to make way for a plethora of narratives presented to us by the native people of the region.
No prior knowledge of the region or its literature is required. Readings and meeting times to be decided. There will be coffee, tea, and snacks at every meeting., which will take place at the first and third week of every month. in the library of Queen Anne's, the building to the left of McKeldin Lib.
