Join the the Summer 2020 Orientation Staff!

The 2020 Orientatation Staff Application is officially LIVE! We hope you will ENVISION YOURSELF on the 2020 Orientation Staff and apply today! There are two different types of positions that you can choose to apply for: Orientation Advisor (OA) or Program Registrar (PR). To put these positions in perspective, your OA's were the ones that you spent your orientation day with, and you probably spoke with a PR if you called to sign up or ask questions about orientation!

If you are interested, we will be hosting information sessions to help you learn more about these positions on the following days:
  • Sept 18 @ 4:30 pm- Info Session (1102 Cole Student Activities Building)
  • Sept 23 @ 6:00pm - Info Session (1205 Cambridge Community Center)
  • Oct 7 @ 11:30 am - Info Session (1102 Cole Student Activities Building)
  • Oct 8 @ 7:30 pm- Info Session (1102 Cole Activities Building)
  • Oct 9 @ 5:00 pm - Info Session (1224 Edward St. John Building )
  • Oct 16 @ 4:30 pm - Info Session (1102 Cole Student Activities Building)
  • Oct 21 @ 6:00 pm - Info Session  (1224 Edward St. John Building)

ORIENTATION ADVISOR 
The Orientation Advisor (OA) position provides a current undergraduate student the opportunity to support new first-year students, transfer students, and their families in their transition to the University of Maryland.  OAs are responsible for assisting students with academic advising, providing information about campus resources and services, educating students about campus policies and procedures, and helping new students acclimate to the university environment.  In addition, an OA serves as a representative of the Orientation Office and the University of Maryland.  

PROGRAM REGISTRAR
The Program Registrar (PR) position assists in the registration of new students and their families for orientation programs, answering phone calls and questions about the orientation program and campus, and assisting in preparing for all orientation programs.  PRs are also required to disseminate current information about the campus and assist in the daily administrative operations of the Orientation Office.  This position incorporates working in cooperation with the professional staff and the other student staff members in the Orientation Office.  In addition, this position serves as an initial point of contact for new students and their families.
