PULSAR (or the Program for Undergraduate Language Science Ambassadors in Research) is a program for students interested in language science — a uniquely broad field that cuts across many different areas of study, including social and biological sciences, computer science and engineering, as well as humanities, education, and clinical fields. PULSAR students select a diverse program of language science classes, engage in research and outreach projects, and become part of the strong interdisciplinary community of language researchers at Maryland. PULSAR is open to students in all majors who have taken one of several suggested prerequisite courses or have some comparable background in a language science field. Students can earn a transcript notation if they participate in PULSAR for 4 semesters.
Applications for Spring 2019 are due Monday, November 19th. There will be two informal information sessions held in the Language Science Center, 2130 H.J. Patterson:
Friday, November 2nd, 11:00am - noon
Thursday, November 8th, 4:00-5:00pm
Students who are interested in the program can drop by at these times and ask questions, or can email: pulsar@umd.edu
