Dear Honors College Students,
The new Minor in Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation is here! Built on hands-on learning, the Minor heightens students’ awareness of local, national and global issues and examines different approaches to social impact. Students study the role of the nonprofit, NGO, and social sector, as well as social innovation, leadership, and the skills required for effective nonprofit management. This minor is open to all undergrads on campus, regardless of major.
To complete the Minor, students must take 15 credits (9 required and 6 electives). I will be teaching the first required course for the Minor, PLCY 213: Foundations of Nonprofit Leadership and Social Innovation, which is being offered this spring and is now on Testudo (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45pm). This Minor is a great fit for any major who wants to build leadership skills and gain a competitive edge in this growing job market. Check out the course listing, you may already be part way toward earning the Minor given past Honors course you've taken!
For more information, see the attached flyer below. If you're interested in signing up for the Minor, send an email to plcyundergrad@umd.edu.
