In 28 states, people still risk being fired or losing their homes just for being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or trans. If you believe, as I do, that all LGBTQ Americans deserve a fair chance to earn a living and provide for their families, you may be a good fit for a part time position with us through the semester.
I represent the Fund for Equality, and we’re looking for smart, hard-working students, with at least 2 free days in their week, who work well in a team and are eager to make real change.
The Fund for Equality partners with the Human Rights Campaign, providing the kind of people power it takes to build the organization for the long-term, win hard-fought campaigns, and make real change on some of the most important issues of our day. And we’re hiring!
Specifically, we're hiring Canvassers and Field Managers to work on behalf of the Human Rights Campaign. We’re currently working to build support to pass the Equality Act, which would prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ people in key areas like employment, housing, and education, providing full federal equality under the law.
Change takes people power. The Fund’s job is to build that power for great groups working on important issues.
We all want to make a difference. But wanting change, or hoping for it, or even passionately arguing for it isn’t enough. That’s where you come in.
The president or the governor usually gets the headline when change does happen. But the real story takes place behind the scenes, with hundreds or thousands or even millions of people making their voices heard through petitions, emails, small donations, and meetings.
That’s people power, and that's what you deliver with the Fund. You’ll be a part of a team that recruits supporters, raises money and mobilizes thousands of people to take action so that we can secure full equality for ALL Americans.
We are looking for motivated students who want to lead the way in working for the change our country needs.
