PAL COACH APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR FALL 2016!

The Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) program is a peer-to-peer academic coaching program, in which trained PAL coaches assist UMD students in using effective learning techniques to improve study skills and gain confidence in their scholastic abilities.

Students engage in a semester-long, peer mentor training program, and are able to volunteer (for a small stipend), or receive 1 or 3 upper-level credits. PAL coaches also have the opportunity to become a certified mentor by the Learning Assistance Service or the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA).

If you are motivated to learn how to support UMD students in achieving their academic goals, please see the attached flyer and complete an application by September 7, 2016.

For more information, please visit go.umd.edu/laspal or
contact the PAL Program Coordinator, Juliana Wong at jwong626@umd.edu.
