Beyond the Classroom Living and Learning Program, Office of Undergraduate Studies

Beyond the Classroom (BTC) Living and Learning Program is seeking a half-time (50 percent) Program Management Specialist to help prepare undergraduate students for professional leadership in the nonprofit and civil society sector. The successful candidate for this position will interact with and provide support to students and university staff.

DUTIES:
·   Compiling, writing, and disseminating the BTC Program Updates listserv to students of program events, and assisting with social media outreach strategies and efforts.
·   Assisting with all aspects of the recruitment process including: outreach to academic departments, faculty advisors, student groups and in courses; making presentations about the program; attending targeted events; answering student inquiries; collecting and organizing applications; and following up with admitted students about program requirements.
·   Supporting curricular and extracurricular activities of the program, including planning and coordinating events such as seminars, film series, receptions, community service opportunities, civic learning trips, career forums, and course- related activities.
·   Developing and implementing marketing campaigns, including the writing, design, duplication and distribution of program announcements, newsletters, press releases, etc.
·   Providing courteous and efficient service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors;
·   Answering routine questions about program details and procedures;
·   Assisting with the program’s housing process for students;
·   Actively participating in the activities of the BTC community.
·   Assisting with other duties to be delegated by the Director, based on the candidate’s skills, interests, and expertise.

·   Able to use various social media platforms as well as develop creative strategies to maximize their input.

QUALIFICATIONS: College degree AND two years of experience providing administrative support.

PREFERENCES: Preference will be given to candidates with previous educational and academic support and community service experience. Willingness and ability to learn and explain detailed program information. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to respond pleasantly to demanding constituents. Professional phone manner and ability to prioritize effectively. Ability to exercise independent judgment and ensure confidentiality.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION: Candidates should be able to handle moderate physical demands in order to help with set up of conference room tables and chairs, and to walk across campus for program events, meetings and activities.
                                                                                                                              
SALARY: Pay Range 10, minimum $17.35 hour; maximum $20.76 hour.
