Kick
off the new school year with a free cookout sponsored by the UMD
Society of Professional Journalists! We'll be serving hamburgers, hot
dogs and veggie burgers in the Knight Hall courtyard on Tuesday, September 17 from 4-6 p.m. (NOTE THAT THE TIME HAS CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE.)
SPJ
is a national journalism organization that is dedicated to improving
and protecting journalism. UMD's student chapter connects students with
professional journalists in the field and provides a community of
learning outside of the classroom. Last year's chapter events included a
newsroom tour, a DSLR video workshop, trips to regional and national
conferences and presentations by professional journalists and
award-winning Merrill faculty.
Come
learn more about SPJ and mingle with other journalism students and
