SEE Presents: An Evening with John Oliver

Student Entertainment Events is very excited to announce this year’s Spring Comedy Show featuring British comedian John Oliver of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” The show will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 7 in Ritchie Coliseum.  Doors open at 7 p.m. and will close promptly at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for those with a valid UMCP ID are priced at $5, and general admission tickets are $15. Tickets are currently available at the Stamp Ticket Office and www.umdtickets.com.

John comes to the University of Maryland having been a writer and correspondent on “The Daily Show” since 2006. John has been nominated for both Emmys and Writers Guild Awards, and was the recipient of the Breakout Award at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival is Aspen. He performs stand-up around the country, and his Comedy Central Hour Special “Terrifying Times” debuted in 2008. John also writes and stars in a weekly podcast, “The Bugle: Audio Newspaper for a Visual World” with Andy Zaltzman. You may also have seen him in his role as Professor Ian Duncan on the hit NBC comedy “Community” from 2009-2011.


Student Entertainment Events is the University of Maryland’s main student programming board. All programming emphasizes the mission of service to the campus community and to the Adele H. Stamp Student Union – Center for Campus Life. SEE considers diverse and broad-based interests when programming to the student body through concerts, comedy, lectures, performing arts, musical arts, special events and cinema.
