Once
upon a time there were snakes and potatoes wreaking havoc until St.
Patrick, the king leprechaun, rode into Ireland on a rainbow, distracted
the villainous creatures with a rainstorm of shamrocks, and knocked
them out with a pot of gold to the head. And that, children, is the
story of St. Patrick's Day.
