TerpCorps
is a program of the Leadership and Community Service-Learning Office in
the STAMP Student Union. TerpCorps is a student-led program that seeks
to build a culture of and commitment to service by planning, leading,
and developing meaningful service-learning opportunities for UMD
students. Using a peer-to-peer strategy, the program develops a pipeline
of students committed to service-learning from one-time service
participants through program coordinators and interns. This model
ensures that students voice is present at all levels of TerpCorps
initiatives.
TerpCorps Coordinates Terp Service Days, Terp Service Weekend, the MPACT retreat and Advocacy and Awareness events.
TerpCorps Coordinators:
- Coordinate with local non-profit leaders, Student Affairs staff, and UMD faculty to plan and coordinate meaningful service initiatives.
- Plan, implement, and assess pre-service educational activities and post-service reflection with initiative participants.
- Participate in peer-led social identities and issue awareness workshops.
Applications can be found online and are due Friday, December 7th at 5pm. Completed applications can be sent along with a resume to terpservice@umd.edu.
